Use this as a guide to better prepare yourself before meeting with your florist.

Listed below are most of the different aspects that could perhaps be needed to complete your wedding day.


Personal Flowers

Bridal bouquet:

Bridesmaid's bouquets:
Maid or Matron of Honor:

European hand-tied with stems exposed or without * gardeney * compact stems wrapped with ribbon * bouquet in tussie mussie holder * and cascading.

Flowers for Hair:

Floral or greenery wreath * small flowers tucked in hair * fresh flowers on barretts.

Flowergirl:
Junior Bridesmaid:

Miniature bouquet * basket filled with fresh flowers * basket filled with rosepetals to throw (check with church first!) * pompadour * garland * flower necklace.

Tossing bouquet:

Smaller version of bride's or bridesmaid's bouquet. Great used at guest book table resting in a vase of water.

Boutonniere's for men:

Groom, Best Man, Groomsmen, Ushers, Ringbearer, Fathers, Grandfathers, Vocalist, Reader, Officiant, Godparent, etc.

*great flowers to use: stephanotis * freesia * delphinium * rose * mini calla lily.

Ringbearer:

Fresh flowers on pillow.

Flower for women:

Mothers, Grandmothers, Servers, Guest Book Attendants, Vocalist, etc.

*Traditionally, pin-on corsages are used here. Although, make sure take a look at other options; long stem flowers tied together with ribbon * miniature bouquet * small bouquet in a tussie mussie holder * wrist corsage to pin onto her purse.


Decorative Flowers for the Ceremony

Large Centerpiece(s):

Could be in shades of whites or colors complementing the bridesmaid's flowers. Flowers should be large so they can be seen from a distance.

Column Rental or Centerpieces:

Greenery garlands wrapped around column.

Candleabras:
Unity Candle:

Could be decorated with greenery or greenery with flowers.

Pew Decorations:

Greenery with ribbon * floral arrangements * tall candle.

Presentation Flowers:

Single flower given to the mothers.

Guest Book Table:

Floral arrangement * candleabra * tossing bouquet in vase of water.

Windows in Church:

Candles with greenery or flowers.


Reception Decorations

Food Table(s):

Large, showy arrangement in rental urn * combinations of candles and flowers * array of candles.

Dining Tables:

Tall with flowers and candles overhead * low floral arrangements * candle configurations. (Your florist should have many different examples to choose from. The price ranges will vary, as well as size and styles.)

Mantles:

Floral arrangements * candles * wreath * bridesmaid's bouquets in vases.

Bridal Cake Table:

Candleabras or votive candles * fresh flowers on the cake and or greenery and rose petals.

Groom's Cake:

Looks great with fresh greenery. Even rose petals or fresh fruit added is wonderful.

Archways and Gazebo's:

Great for cake table or ceremony backdrops. Can be decorated with fresh greenery, or greenery with fresh flowers.


Outside the Ceremony and Reception Site

Consider using candles hanging from the trees * candle stakes lining a walkway * wreaths of fresh greenery and or flowers on the doors * greenery draping over entrance.


Flowers for the Rehearsal Dinner

Often times, the floral centerpieces for the rehearsal dinner coordinate with the flowers for the wedding, setting the stage for the day ahead.
